Inclusions of Niva Bupa (Formerly known as Max Bupa) Health Companion Plan
The following coverage are included under the Niva Bupa (Formerly known as Max Bupa) Health Companion plan:
- In-patient Care– Any medical expenses incurred on the hospitalization of at least 24 hours is covered, including room rent.
- Pre-hospitalization Medical Expenses– It provides coverage for medical expenses incurred up to 30 days before getting admitted to a hospital.
- Post-hospitalization Medical Expenses– It covers the medical expenses incurred for up to 60 days after getting discharged from the hospital, such as physiotherapy costs.
- Day Care Treatment– All day care procedures are covered under this Niva Bupa (Formerly known as Max Bupa) Health Insurance plan.
- Living Organ Donor Transplant– It covers medical expenses incurred by the organ donor for the harvesting of the donated organ.
- Emergency Ambulance– It reimburses the cost of ambulances services availed during a medical emergency for up to Rs 3000.
- Vaccination for Animal Bite– This plan also pays for the vaccination costs taken for an animal bite ranging from up to Rs 2500 to Rs 7500 depending on the plan variant.
- Alternative Treatments– It provides coverage for the treatments taken through the AYUSH system of medicines.
- Domiciliary Hospitalization– It covers the expenses incurred on availing medical treatment at home on a doctor’s advice due to unavailability of the hospital bed.
- Modern Treatments– It provides coverage for the cost of modern treatments taken by the insured.

- Hospital Cash Benefit– This cover enables the policyholder to get a daily cash allowance ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 4000 per day of hospitalization for a maximum of 30 days in a policy year.

- No treatment is covered within the first 30 days until it is a case of accident/emergency

- Eyesight

- Obesity and weight control treatments
- Injuries due to participation in hazardous activities
- Maternity expenses
- Artificial life maintenance
- Treatment received outside India
